Our purpose built facilities offer 24 hour CCTV security to ensure all your belongings are safe and secure and we also offer a low cost insurance option to give you added peace of mind when storing with us.
You can store pretty much anything with us from household and garden furniture to camping and hobby equipment enabling you to release as much space as you need in your home, garage or garden shed.

The storage containers are based in a highly secure area with 24hr CCTV surveillance and personalised key fob access (Houndbeare only) with lights on the premises ensuring your possessions are safe and protected.
The House-It team are a friendly, family owned business who are a full operator member of the SSA. We provide units large enough to accommodate full house contents and large amounts of business archiving and stock.

What size Storage unit do you need?

Size of small garden shed – Estate car/Transit van – 40 boxes approx
This is our most popular size and is equivalent to a small garden shed. It will take single mattresses or an armchair and around 40 medium boxes (400x400x400) and will fit into a large estate car or transit van.
We have over twenty different sizes of units available at our two locations.
Long term storage discounts are available.
1 bed flat – Transit Van – 100 boxes approx.
Another popular size and equivalent to about a third of the size of a standard single car garage or the contents of a transit van. Perfect for storing stock and business equipment or for de-cluttering your home.

2 bed house & shed/3 bed house – 7.5 tonne truck – 250 boxes approx

How much does it cost?
House-It have a variety of unit sizes at different prices. Let us know what you want to store either by phone, e-mail or via our free online quote form and we will give you a good idea of the size you need and how much this will cost.

How do I rent a unit?
Simply call us to reserve a unit or pop in and we will be happy to help you complete the simple process. Please note that you will also need to provide ID in advance to be able to store with us.

Do I need to book a unit in advance?
We strongly recommend you give us a call so that we can reserve a specific unit for you since availability can sometimes be limited. However, as long as we have a suitable unit available you can simply arrive at the store, complete the Storage Agreement & ID check, and move in.

What if I need more/less space?
Providing we have availability, you can transfer to a larger or smaller room at any time without penalty. Your storage charges will be amended accordingly from the day you transfer.

How long can I store for?
You can stay as long as you like, our minimum storage period is two weeks and you can vacate with two weeks notice. When you leave, the charges will be adjusted accordingly and you will be refunded any advance payment you have made for days you haven’t used.

What can I store?
Almost anything – furniture, books, clothes, personal effects, appliances, files, office equipment, documents, excess stock etc. However, please note that certain items are prohibited, see our terms of storage for more information.

Will my belongings be safe?
We have 24 hour internal and external CCTV surveillance, fire/smoke detectors and intruder alarm systems operating 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. You hold the only key to your unit and access to the store is controlled by our personalised electronic key fob entry system, so your belongings are as safe with us as in your own home or business premises.

What’s included in the price?
All you need is a padlock, packing materials and insurance.

Why do I need a padlock?
You need your own padlock (padlocks are available for sale from our onsite offices), to ensure that your unit is kept secure at all times.

What about insurance?
Your goods must be insured whilst in store with us. Cover may already be provided via an existing policy you hold (for example your household Insurance policy), but if this is not the case you will need to obtain suitable cover before storing. We are able to offer a low cost insurance option should you need this. Please feel free to ask for further information and we will send this to you.

When can I get access to my belongings?
The store is open from 7am to 8pm Monday to Sunday. Access outside these hours can be arranged in an emergency.

How do I pay?
Our preferred method of payment is by Direct Debit which can be arranged at any time. Initial payment is to be made via debit or credit card.

Can you help with packing materials?
Yes. As well as padlocks we can supply, boxes, tape, bubble wrap, dust sheets, marker pens and many other packing supplies you may need all available from our onsite offices. Please see our packing page for further details.

Can you help arrange removals?
We do not operate our own removals service however we are happy to recommended local independent and professional removal contractors.
